Our sailing season is now over. After 2 years of COVID19 (Corona), we have had finally a normal season again, one of our best seasons ever. Our yachts, the Borina, Randa, Laguna or Victoria (in Sardinia) are now at the shipyard near Bodrum for maintenance etc. and we plan to start mid-April.

Latest news

Colleague, business partner, friend and captain Suleyman Koylu married Elif in August 2020. They gave each other the YES word on our sailing ship the Randa. Much happiness together.

Season 2019 we had a very special group on board. A trip of 40 (!) Days on the Borina1 and Laguna. It was a TV recording conducted by EMMY AWARD winner Sylvestre Campe together with 11 guests from Brazil. Including professional Kite surfers. It is expected to be seen on TV in mid-2022 and 2023, 10 episodes of 25 minutes!

Ventus sailing marketing

In the past (and present), there has been a lot of press on board of our yachts and there have been travel reports in various magazines and newspapers, like Mail on Sunday. In addition, Ventus Sailing was on TV in the travel program of 3OPREIS, the biggest travel program in Holland.

Our passengers come mainly from the Netherlands, UK and Belgium. In addition, we have been working together with an agency in the UK, Belvedere Travel, for many years. Owner of Belvedere Travel is mrs. Jane Blount.

Our guests come mainly on board via social media, word of mouth, repeaters and internet. Ventus is also regularly on a holiday fair.

Ventus in winter

In winter the yachts are being maintained by the crew at a local shipyard and undergo repairs. The crew also take part in several workshops, such as an English language course and a sailing course and they get instructed about safety on board as well. Most of the crewmembers have a good working knowledge of English, but they do have a different cultural and linguistic background and are therefore not advanced speakers of English. They will try and serve you, however, the best they can.

About us

Owner of Ventus is Robert Jan Oberink, a well-known name in the world of sailing cruises. Robert Jan has a lot of expertise and experience in the 12 years he has worked as a commercial manager at a tour operator (Tussock Cruising) in sailing cruises. Ventus Sailing Cruises exists since 2008. The Head Office of Ventus is in Amersfoort, Netherlands with small offices in the UK and Bodrum, Turkey, as well.

Our regular partners in Turkey are carefully selected. We rent so no gulets of the market. We have our own fleet of wooden yachts. Because of this we can offer you a good price/quality ratio of the yachts, crew and care.

We are a green company

We organize sailing cruises with enthusiasm and respect for nature, environment and the local population with its own use. We sail as much as possible and as little as possible on the engine. The crew comes from nearby villages, provisions on board is often bought from fresh local markets. On board of each yacht we have solar panels.
